Prior to launching on Mark43, the FMPD relied on locally hosted, legacy on-premises Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Record Management Systems (RMS). Given the complex climate in South Florida, these systems were vulnerable to power outages, which resulted in significant operational disruptions. The old system posed other limitations including a lack of interoperability, strained data integration and sharing, along with slow and insufficient software updates. This resulted in delays with case management, assignment and report writing.
